FACTS:
We went out and bought a jar of «new» Leather Mate. We can confirm that if the jar does not mention that it's manufactured by URAD in Italy, it's not the same product that you were buying before. And NO, URAD has not changed its recipe.
If it's written «by URAD» on the jar it's the original product. If it's not, it's simply not made by URAD ! It's a sad copy!
In our 2001 investigation we were told by Leather Mate's distributors, as well as their sales people, that it was the original Leather Mate (made by URAD) but was now imported in barrels and was simply shaken too much before bottling... NOT TRUE!
The truth is that if URAD is shaken, it will simply become liquid for 10 minutes and return to a paste! The only time the real URAD remains liquid is if it freezes; it stays in a more liquid form but the smell is not altered nor is the quality of the results after application!
In our 2010 investigation, the information we found on their web sites and on their brochures "implied" that Leather Mate was now "all natural", and was the same as URAD only now it was produced in the USA. (While on the jar it says it is "Made in Canada"...)
The bottom line is : It's not the same! URAD still is and has always been all natural, biodegradable and non toxic. |
